Reviews
Very small but delicious spot to eat at, highly suggest coming here if you love sushi. Everything is very authentic and the food is to die for, don’t expect much ambiance or decor, just go here for the amazing fresh sushi, you won’t be disappointed.
We waited an hour to be seated, it’s popular and like I said, small. Went across the street and got a drink then when we returned we were seated. WORTH THE WAIT.
Amazingly friendly and accommodating sushi chef whom you place all orders with, starting with the first order slip. Further orders can be placed with him as well, he does his best to meet all requests and is nothing like the other snotty big ego chefs, even at the same price point.
Amazing sweet shrimp (GET THE SOUP FOR THE HEADS), uni, scallops, toro. If I could do over, I would get 10 sweet shrimp sushi and drink 2 bowls of the soup and call it a day. The long walk in wait is worth it.
No frills food that you can feel most of your $$ is going towards fresh ingredients instead of plating gimmicks or ambience or service stuff I don’t care about. 100/100 recommend, so glad we went.
This is one of the most authentic sushiya experiences one can have in Los Angeles.
The quality of the fish is perfect.
The price of each piece is perfect.
The vibe is perfect.
Avoid if you prefer “crazy” rolls and spicy tuna on crispy rice. This place is the real deal.
Unbeatable quality sushi.
Good “bang for your buck” sushi!—quote from my friend.
We love everything here.
Like a real small restaurant in Japan, with tasty food and friendly atmosphere.
You cannot book a table in here, and there is always a line in the evening, so make sure to come here earlier to enjoy the dinner.
We must have passed by this sushi spot at least a thousand times and every time we passed by there was always a line, so we’d skip it. We arrived at 8:11PM & they told us there was a wait and they couldn’t guarantee seating for us but we should come back at 9PM to check. We did and we were the last couple to be seated. Last call is at 9:30PM. It’s a small restaurant. The main dining area is the sushi bar, 6-8 seats in front and 4-5 seats on each side. There are two tables in a separate dining area that seat four each. You may sit there if you’re in a party of at least three or more. No noodles, no ramen, no tempura, no nonsense. Very simple, old school traditional, no frills. Once seated service is fast. We ordered mostly nigiri. We also ordered oysters and salmon cheek with yuzu. Fish was fresh and tasty. I forgot to ask if they offer omakase. We loved everything we ordered. This place is added to our list of favorite L.A. sushi spots.
PS If you park in the Japanese Village parking structure, they’ll validate your ticket.
For the price and quality, 5 stars. They open fairly late considering the other sushi restaurant around there.
Food is excellent. The sushi was prepared in ways that are a little more special than elsewhere. Fish and seafood quality is good. On the pricey side.
